We recently wrote about a very exciting award win – Kids Matter took the SILVER AWARD for Best Replicable Project at the recent Christian Funders’ Forum Awards. It is an inspiring, much appreciated acknowledgement and we are pleased to report that our very own Fuzz Dix, Kids Matter facilitator and church leader at St Luke’s Millwall on the Isle of Dogs, has been acknowledged by local website press for her invaluable contribution to Kids Matter. Fuzz has been responsible for the implementation and running of 13 Kids Matter groups in her designated area. She has played a key role in the establishment of Kids Matter and is crucially involved in training volunteer facilitators who will ultimately use both training resources and their own experience to help parents develop skills and confidence. Of the award, Fuzz says:
“It’s so encouraging to see that Kids Matter is recognised as a programme that can be well replicated – we have seen it work in several different contexts here on the Isle of Dogs, with local parents growing in confidence in their own parenting, and encouraging each other. It’s been a great way to build community – no-one should have to face the challenges of parenting, alone.”
Here’s to you , Fuzz, and all the hard work you do. Thank you for your passion and dedication to the strengthening of families in your community!
